[DMCForum] Re: DeLorean MPG (Martin G)

I'm talking about people getting 30 MPG from the *SAME* engine you and
I use.

Of course the other engines you mention may get better mileage than a
low compression 2.8 liter odd fire PRV. But that's hardly an apples to
apples comparison.

All I'm saying is: if an owner of a standard PRV equipped DeLorean is
truly getting 30 MPG, all I can figure is:
- The trip was basically downhill (from higher elevation area to lower)
- RPM's for most of the trip were in the single thousands
- Overall fuel/air intake has been reduced (same ratio as you and I,
but smaller overall amount)
- Air intake remains the same as yours and mine, but the fuel ratio
has been reduced

CO screw affects fuel mixture throughout travel of the air sensor
plate. It's just set at idle. Unlike a carburetor, which has
physically separate passages for idle and throttle fuel and air, K
Jetronic routes every ounce of fuel and every foot of air through the
same channels irrespective of throttle position.
