Will fly out, rather than drive. But yeah, I don't see any reason as
to why I wouldn't make it out to Houston.
On the flip side, I've got a 1-year deadline to get a new engine
installed for Phesant Run. And the question right now is which one to
use. It's either going to be a 4.6L Rover V8, or a Mazda 20B 3-Rotor
with a VGT Turbo, rather than the stock sequential turbos. It's going
to be practicly the same cost for either one, but parts/resources are
more available for the Rotary engine. The only trade-off is I'll need
to have a custom bellhousing fabricated. And I've already gotten a
reccomendation for a shop there.
The transaxle is a different story. The Porche 6-speed is tempting,
but I've only found 2 available in the U.S. (online auto dismantlers'
database).Plus I can beef up the UN-1 with minimal problems. I'd LOVE
to get my hands on a 6-Speed gear set to convert my existing trans.
Since that would mean less for me to fabricate.
The irony of this was that I was about to be done with the DeLorean,
so that I could go out, and buy a project muscle car. So now, it
looks like I'm just going to have to build my own muscle car out of
the DeLorean...
