Nice idea, but stainless steel has too many disadvantages in
the automotive application.  It absorbs too much light.  It
develops a patina of oxidation that protects it from further
oxidation.  It is too soft and would be prone to scratching.
And in my research I need materials that energy can pass
thru.  Matter, like light, has a dual nature.  In some
situations it behaves as a particle; and in others, it
behaves as a wave.  Make matter behave as a wave and then
you can focus it thru a lens.  Cool concept, eh?  But it
should be taken with a wave of salt. ;-)
