Oh, Okay, I'm still sober enough to type.  I'm only on my
second beer, but these are the 5.5% ones.
You are correct that there are at least 4 different VOV
types.  But to state it correctly, there are exactly 4
types.  The situation is that there are two options
available with VOVs.  So 2 to the power of 2 equals 4, hence
the 4 types.
About option 1 -- the different shapes.  The difference is
hardly relevant to the DeLorean application.  One style is
pointy on the end.  The other is also pointy except that it
has 4 fins like a rocket or torpedo.  This helps keep it
centered in the pipe.  In the case of the DeLorean with the
problematic evaporator tubes, I prefer the pointy one since
it is easier to install.  If the pipe is not bent then there
shouldn't be a problem with either one.
About option 2 -- regular or heavy duty.  You will need to
read the website on VOVs to make an informed decision.  The
heavy duty is meant for extreme hot conditions.  As I
remember, they did not explain how this model would perform
with normal or cool weather.  I have only used the regular
model since most of the cars I work on stay in Florida, and
the weather here isn't as extreme as Arizona where possibly
the heavy duty one could be more appropriate.  Before I
would try the heavy duty one, I would want to know how it
would perform in non-heavy duty conditions.  I think the
price is the same for either option, so it is not like one
is better or higher-tech than the other.
Hey, I made another on-topic post.  That means I get to
balance it with another off-topic post.  Let's see what I
come up with, if anything.... which means I get another
beer, too. :-)
