[DMCForum] The Delorean has left the building

Just came back from a day at Barrett-Jackson and no Delorean!
We tramped back and forth through miles of mud and never could
find it. I asked several people who were clueless - either about
where it was or what a Delorean was !?! One dude with a "staff"
badge suggested it was in one of the two expo areas until I
explained that it wasn't a car that swims with the $100+++ fish.
Apparently the event is so disorganized there doesn't exist a master
list of where the cars are parked unless they are imminently coming
up for auction.
Finally someone suggested that I ask at "key control" and at least
there someone there remembered that it was "scratched from the
auction because it wouldn't start." He said it was dull and had a
broken driver's side window.
I see it's still listed as a viable auction #1207, but I don't know how
often they update their listings.
Must say, B-J was just *SOS- different day.* Mostly muscle cars,
hot rods, and lots of 'vettes. The highlight for me was the
Oldsmobile concept car ca 1955 that looked like a Corvette and an
Alpha-Romeo golf cart. My prize for the most ridiculous vehicle was
a Volvo sedan on monster wheels painted Forsest Service green.
Most interesting was a polished aluminum body, sold without
engine, that's produced in Utah as an AC Cobra replica by
KIRKHAM. At least it didn't have garish paint like most of the other
cars there! The boattail speedster on display would have been a
lovely sight had it not been painted day-glo green.
been a long day......................LP
