Depends on what you mean by "brass band." In New
Orleans, "Brass Band" means a bunch of black guys in a
parade. When I was in Charlotte I played in the Queen
City Brass Band (now defunct) which was an authentic
British Brass Band. A friend of mine is trying to
start a British Brass Band here in New Orleans but is
having a hard time finding anyone interested. It's
hard enough finding a classical tuba player for a
quintet, so I admire the guy for trying.

In either case, no. I do pit orchestras, church
services, weddings, and the odd jazz gig but I'm not
in any official ensemble.
