With all due respects, my car was set on fire by a failed headlight
switch. Adding another relay for the side & tail lights hardly seems
like an unwise modification. Total amperage through my switch now is
30 milliamps (protected by an added 1 amp fuse, thank you very much).
I make no recommendations for your vehicle. You are free to do with it
as you deem best fit. But I have no intention of ever setting my own
on fire again.
