I met a teenager at a car show who said he had a DeLorean with such a
sunroof. But he had to sell it because he couldn't find parts for
it. I'm quite sure that he was trying to spoof me.
Unless you have doors that are messed up so bad that you are going to
paint them, I would not try it. Any added weight to the door would
require more stress on the torsion bar. But with the case of a
sunroof, the added weight would be closer to the hinge where it
wouldn't matter so much. Just taking out a door lock solenoid makes
a big difference.
A sunroof idea that I have thought about alot is to put one in the T-
panel. It could only be a narrow strip. But it could pull in a lot
of air. For a painted car, I'm still thinking about ways to hack out
the quarter panel windows, but I'm not sure this would look good. If
I do it, I'll be using Samuel's painted, bondo-ed, cracked panels
anyway.
