Woah...now I'm really confused as to what's going on.  The old image 
linked to below is definitely a fake...you can see the bad photoshopping 
job.  However, I hold in front of me a past issue of "Invention and 
Technology" magazine discussing the contributions of the RAND 
corporation.  In the magazine is this same image, but it's not 
photoshopped.  There are other pics in the magazine of this same guy.  
He's not just some random person photoshopped in.

Since RAND had a lot to do with the design and conceptualization of a 
LOT of government projects, I wouldn't doubt that this is actually a 
nuclear submarine mock-up...but it could have very well also doubled as 
their mock-up of a computer 50 years from now...because of their belief 
at the time that everything in the future would be nuclear powered.

I'll scan in the page from the magazine, and post it if anyone is 
interested in seeing it.
