Marc,
Read again, then.  You both said the exact same thing, almost verbatim.
Travis: "Although the margin was slim, Bush won the popular vote by the
greatest number in history."
Marc: "Bush won with the greatest number of popular votes in history..  NOT
THE GREATEST MARGIN! As elections go, the margin was VERY SLIM."
So, again...
============================================================================
===========================
Travis: "the margin was slim"
Marc: "the margin was VERY SLIM."
============================================================================
===========================
Travis: "Bush won the popular vote by the greatest number in history."
Marc: "Bush won with the greatest number of popular votes in history.."
============================================================================
===========================

I know what he said..  In the context of the article,
and my comments on it, it seemed to me he was agreeing
that Bush/Cheney were correct in their position
because something as meaningless as "most popular
votes".  The real (ONLY) contest is margin.
Margin is how one would define a mandate, or
landslide.
