Agreed, and when homosexuals can convince the rest of us, the rules
will change. But right now, at least in the 11 states sampled, between
57% and 86% of the population likes things the way they are.
The only convincing argument I've seen on the homosexual side is that
"Government should not be involved in marriage at all." I tend to
agree. If marriage was a strictly religious ceremony and government
didn't provide special benefits for married couples, this wouldn't be
an issue. I'm not saying I support that viewpoint 100%, but I lean in
that direction.
