The US makes a really big deal about asbestos.  THE us has the most 
extensive and closely regulations than any other country in the world. 
Including England, Germany, France, Denmark, Vietnam, New Zealand, all 
of the EC countries, etc.

This does not make sense? Why?  The US is not the most progressive 
social country in the world.   The US was

1. The last country to out law slavery.
2. The last industrialized country to enact worker compensation laws.
3. The last industrialized to enact federal state and health laws.
4. The only industrialized country without national health care
5. The industrialized country with the least amount of employee vacation 
and benefits.
6. The only industrialized country that does not count employees as 
unemployed once there benefits expire.
7.  The industrialized country with the most out of date chemical 
exposure standards from 1968.  The rest of the world uses standards from 
2003.

Definite contradiction between strict asbestos regulations and the rest 
of the social welfare programs.

The US freaks out parents with Asbestos in schools making parent believe 
that asbestos in schools is a health hazard to their children - which it 
is not.  
No retrospective study of asbestos related disease HAS EVER FOUND ANY 
CONNECTION TO ASBESTOS EXPOSURE IN SCHOOL.

Retrospective studies have shown that only workers in the insulation and 
asbestos weaving industries develop asbestos disease.  Harvard school of 
public health and the English safety and health directorate have 
researched this.  ONLY LONG TERM EXPOSURE TO HIGH LEVELS OF ASBESTOS 
CAUSES DISEASE.

EVEN MORE SHOCKING!! DID YOU KNOW THAT EVERYONE BREATHS IN HUNDREDS OF 
ASBESTOS FIBERS PER DAY?  ASBESTOS IS A NORMAL PART OF THE SOIL ON THE 
EARTH SO IT IS FOUND IN THE EVERYDAY AIR WE BREATH.  (SEE California 
Prop 65 data and ASTDR research)

What this means is that everyone breaths in billions of asbestos fibers 
over their lifetime AND GUESS WHAT WE DON"T DIED.  IN FAct, among 
centarions (people who live over 100 years- t here are some 20 million 
now)  asbestos disease is not at cause of death even though these people 
breath in 50% more asbestos ov er their lifetime than the average person.

Why doesn't the rest of the world regulate asbestos like the US does.? 
 BECAUSE the thousand of toxicologists in those countries have analyzed 
the retrospective epidiemologic data and have also concluded that only 
long term high level exposure is a health problem.  Long term high level 
asbestos exposure is not or ever was present in any school  

Here is a funny story.  In WWII Germany  RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WAR 
 banned the use of asbestos insulation because of the high level 
exposure that occurred during the insulation of war ships.  THE world 
knew high level exposure to asbestos was a health hazard starting in 
1906 with asbestos cloth weavers in Egypt.

SO WHAT WAS the Allies response. The US government made up posters (for 
US ship builders) saying how stupid the Germans were for banning 
asbestos insulation. THE posters advertised that Asbestos saves US 
soldiers.  WHAT LIES AND BS  when the government knew it was a health 
hazard to insulation workers.
THe US governments liable in asbestos disease law suits has been 
exempted BECAUSE THE US WAS AT WAR!!

THE US NAVY CONTINUED THE MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR ASBESTOS INSULATION 
IN WAR BOATS UNTIL THE LATE 1980S. After this the NAVY finally released 
that he many layers of paint on ships is what caused them to burn and 
then changed to ablative paint to deal with the real fire hazard.
I had an IH friend who worked at Electric Boat in Conn where they make 
US subs.  SHe said the asbestos exposures were unbelieavable even unto 
the 1980s.  The US government did  not care.  They needed there weapons.

3 years ago, THE US National Academy of Science looks at Mesothelioma - 
the cancer that the US government said comes from asbestos.   What did 
the NAS find.
First, mesothelioma cancer rates did not track asbestos use in the US 
-so it can not be the cause.  Second, mesothelioma cancer tracted polio 
virus innoculations THAT CONTAIN SIMIAN VIRUS FROM MONEYS.  Simain virus 
has caused mesothelioma in monkey.   SO Asbestos was not the cause.

AFTER 9/11 the US EPA finally admitted to the public that only long term 
exposure to high levels of asbestos is a health hazard.
They also admitted in March 2004 in the Owser panel report.  That only 
long asbetos fibers are a health hazard and fiber less than 5 micons ARE 
NO HEALTH RISK WHAT SO EVER.  GEE, THE REST OF THE WORLD HAS KNOW THIS 
SINCE 1906!

So if the rest of the world does not spread paranoia and fear to parent 
of grade schoolers, then why does the US government?

WHY HAS  THE US GOVERNMENT REQUIRED OUR SCHOOL TO SPEND BILLIONS OF 
DOLLARS TO REMOVE A  NON REAL HAZARD?

THE answer to that question  contains three words.  Sputnik    Vietnam
