I have friends from Bahston, among other places, and can hear a few
Bahstonian words eek out when Kerry talks as well.  I know that people tend
to generalize the southern accent as uneducated or lazy, but the truth is
that any accent is lazy.  If you don't correctly pronounce the words of your
language then that is lazy, or more correctly, a lazy tongue.  Since I have
used Boston as the example, there is no 'h' in car or park.  Because someone
can pronounce words better does not necessarily mean they are more educated,
and vise versa.  The same is applicable with school grades.

Even though I have lived in the south for most of my life people all over
the US often ask me where I am from because I have no accent.  Well, if I am
around someone who does then I will pick that up but it goes away in short
order.

Preconceptions always amaze me.  No offense, Jack :)

Jeb seems to be a much better more educated more normal guy from what I
have seen from his brother.  I think W was dropped as a kid, his father
was decent had no southern accent, and Jeb seems decent and has no
southern accent, what happened to the other one?

No offence to southerners, just pointing out that the rest of the family
has been able to acliment (sp) themselves to public communication, not
preaching.
