The Alpine never had the 24 valve PRV - it's too late for the 310 and
the 610 had the 3 litre 12 valve turbo lump. The Atmo had the carbed
2.85 and the GTA V6 Turbo had the same engine as the 25 turbo - the
2458cc turbo. All the alpine's use the same mounts as the 25 which are
the same as Bill Robertson's - identical but the mounts are in the
middle. The DeLorean crank case is RENAULT 30 - the sump is visually
identical but the D's is slightly deeper needing those spacers on the
oil pickup and a unique dipstick tube. The only 24 valvers were
available as an option in big Peugeot, Citroen and Renaults from 95-97
and was then replaced across the board by the 3 litre 24v 60 degree PSA
V6 which is still in use today. As far as I know the gearbox in the
Citroens is very different, as it was in the Renault Espace for example
where the engine sits transversely. The Venturi is a lore unto itself,
with a heavily modified 24 valve 3litre twin turbo, twin intercooled
rear mounted PRV on the end of a UN1. The heads in the Venturi engine
are not the same being twin-cam I believe. However, all PRV's including
the 24valver carry the same bottom end as the turbo lumps meaning with a
change of pistons, you can blow those engines with no fear of damage.
The rarest version is in the Renault Safrane which had a sequential twin
turbo setup - this was reserved for the french market alone. I've made a
friend in the guy who runs www.renaultalpine.co.uk who is dropping a 24
valver in his Atmo
