For my cap, I bought the cross reference recommended by
DMCJoe.  (He retired from working on DeLoreans full time.)
The problem with it is that it was internally vented.  And
for the DeLorean the cap should not vent in any way.
Otherwise it was a cool polished stainless steel cap, so I
cut the vent out & filled it with epoxy.  Now it works
great.

I believe that DMCH still sells the OEM non-locking cap.
And they aren't expensive.

I replaced my original cap because it was the locking
variety, and it was so stiff that it was bending my key.
