RE: [DMCForum] cooling fan issue

The otterstat is a mechanical switching  device ($20.00 ) 97 degree C on the
web site. There is an easy way to test to see if it's the problem. You need
a jumper like I show on the RPM relay or a paper clip. Unplug the 2 wires
from the switch and turn the ignition key to the on position and use the
paper clip to short between the wires. The fans should come on. Unplug and
they should go off. Then plug it back into the temp switch and if the fans
come on then it's bad. I also sell a automatic air bleeder under cooling on
the web site.

  Hey John

Thanks for the reply! Is that not just a solid-state temperature switch?
If it's stuck, then the only thing I can do is just replace it, right?

Eric, Try the otterstat first / Temp switch in the lower left cooling
  pipe.
  It could be stuck.

    Hey Everybody

I took my car out for a spin last night- first time in a few weeks. I
had a funny occurance with my cooling fans- they wouldn't turn off. I
recently had my cooling system open while I was doing some work, so
could this be a symptom of having air stuck in the top of the
  radiator?
I already have the water pump self-bleeder line working for me, but I
recently learned that air can be trapped at the other end of the car
  and
cause mischief. How do I bleed the air out of the radiator?

    Thanks in advance!
