I hope I get this worded correctly. Well, it can be difficult to have a
discussion on religion, and a few other things, on a completely intellectual
level since religion requires belief in something that can not necessarily
be proven tangible. Now, before you respond with "I have seen this proof"
keep in mind that I may have seen some things as well that could be
interpreted as proof by someone who had this unwavering faith. I chose to
question things in a rational manner, and to me that manner is science.
Also, I am not saying that religious people are not intellectual. I have no
problem with people choosing religion. I do have a problem with people
choosing a religion unequivocally as 'the only real religion' and trying to
convert the world to their way of thinking. I would have a huge amount of
respect for someone who studied every religion and decided on their own
which one was best for them instead of picking the one that is most popular,
or their friends are in, or the one they were raised in.
Quoted from the movie Contact:
Dr. Arroway (after explaining Occam's Razor): So what's more likely...an
all-powerful and mysterious God created the universe and then decided not to
give any proof of his existence... or ... that he simply doesn't exist at
all and that we created him so that we wouldn't have to feel so small and
alone.
...and finally...
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." -
Arthur C. Clarke, I believe. You can replace the word 'magic' with the
supernatural/deity word of choice.
Do I think I am going to change your mind? Not at all.

The banality of non-believers is hilarious. If
paradox-themed websites and beligerent remarks with a
side of bickering is all this list has to challenge
me, my job witnessing to everyone is done here. I
keep forgetting; all I've seen in terms of antagonism
towards Christianity here has been random putdowns -
no form of thought process nor intellectual challenges
- just a bunch of people upset at God for no reason.
So sad, a bunch of individuals who can work on a car
that is so intricate and complex in nature, but are so
bitter towards a religion that has everything to offer
them. Some things have to be believed to be seen.
God bless =).
Some of the best born-again Christians were once
atheists =).
