Not to make fun of those with a speech impediment, but I'm still
dealing with a car that stutters. It really does it when the A/C is
loading down the engine.
I read a tech article that stated that a DeLorean had a problem
similar to mine caused by the RPM relay. The timer chip was only
receiving intermittant pulses so the fuel pump was cutting in and
out, unheard by the owner. I jumpered the fuel pump AND the Lambda
system so that they received constant juice and ran the engine. No
change.
While I was parked, jumpering the fuel pump, I did listen to it. It
sounds sick to me. It alternates between a normal, quiet hum and a
real howling noise. It also sounds like it changes speed. It's also a
possible point of lost rest pressure if the check valve fails.
A guy on the DML today, related to me how even though this battery
ground cable was very firmly bolted down from inside the coil box to
the frame, all he had to do was -touch- it, and his car died.
Hey, for $3.00, I'll buy a new one and eliminate the question.
