[DMCForum] DRIVE AXLE BOOTS

Okay,  I give up.  Maybe someone here can help.  I am replacing the
boots that are fastened to the inside and outside of both drive axles.
 I've got the axles off, (automatic transmission) and I can't, for the
life of me figure out how you remove either one of the big ends so I
can slide off the old boots and put on the new ones.

Are they connected like a ball joint or what??  I don't want to smack
them with a hammer until I here from someone who is more knowledgable
than me on this subject.  Too many times I've thought I knew how a
part was assembled and you guessed it, I ended up with broken parts
instead of dismantling it.
