I absolutely agree. It makes a huge difference in how you think about
spending money and paying for school when you have to do it yourself. My
father helped me a little but I pretty much paid for school on my own.

Subject: [DMCForum] Paying for college
Saw this on dmcnews:
"DUE TO MY SECOND CHILD ENTERING COLLEGE, I AM FORCED INTO SELLING MY
D."
What the heck? "Forced" into selling your DeLorean? That's the
stupidest thing I've ever heard. Why do parents feel they have to pay
for their adult child's education? And to the point of taking out
second mortgages and selling their prized possessions?
This is just stupid. When my kids are college age, I'll help them if I
can, but it's not going to be a free ride. Student loans and a job may
become necessary. I certainly won't be going into debt myself, or
selling my DeLorean, to provide a young adult with several tens of
thousands of dollars just because I'm his parent and feel "obligated".
Anyone with me?!
