Yes but at "only" 2.5 litres, I'm sure you'll argue that the
displacement of your pig-iron lump will make up for the higher
compression. Remember diesel fuel gives off less energy than petrol per
unit volume too. It's just the engines are more efficient at extracting
that energy.
A tug of war with a skyline would be silly as they don't weight much,
but a drag race would teach you a thing or two I think.
