Yeah, sad, isn't it? We could actually be competitive if we didn't have up
to an 80% end tax rate in this country.
Think about a bottle of Coke being made. The plastic bottle is taxed, the
energy is taxed, the corn syrup is taxed, the transprotation is taxed, etc,
etc., etc. until you finally get it in your hands. I read a great article
about how a Chrysler minivan, at $22,000, would cost less than $7,000 when
you remove all of the siphoning taxes away from every aspect of it's
manufacture.
