I applied for LOST TAG. They told me someone already had
it. I later heard from a friend that they knew the guy with
this tag in Ft. Lauderdale, and he had a ticket before.
Yeah, sounds like a typical urban legend... Anyway, next I
asked for LO5T TAG, using a "5", and they said fine. So
they process the paperwork and about 20 minutes later they
tell me that I can't have that tag. They couldn't tell me
exactly why either. They said that there was no such tag
already issued, but the system said that it had already been
applied for or whatever.
The woman didn't speak English very well, so I asked for
YUCK FOU. She said that it was available and that I could
have it. I almost did. I blushed so hard that I think I
broke out in a sweat. The only thing that stopped me was
having to explain it to my mom if she ever saw it.
The next time I went back, I applied for BAREFUT and got
that. When people see me actually barefoot (and I am 99% of
the time), they get a good laugh. At least I'm good for
something, eh?
I saw a Tampa Tribune article about a woman who had the tag
EAT ME only spelled backwards using 3's. 3M TA3 But there
were enough complaints that the tag department took it away.
I hear that the policy in Florida is that if any citizen
complains about it being inappropriate and the complaint
sounds reasonable then it gets revoked. I think the same
article said some guy applied for VIAGRA and got turned down
because it's a trade name.
Somewhere I saw a web site that anyone could upload photos
of their custom license plates. I lost the link now.
Anyone know about it? Because I think I got the link from a
DeLorean owner.
