My dish is on a 20' pole (solid) to clear some trees. Makes changing
the actuator arm a *REAL* challenge, especially since I work alone. It
can be done, but one of these days I'm going to fall and kill myself.
Don't have a vertical A frame ladder -- just use an extension ladder
with the pole caught in the corner of the side rail and top rung.
Because the dish weighs about 1,000,000 lbs I support it with a long
2x4 first. Came loose once, crashing back against the pole. I wrapped
my arms around it in a death grip bear hug. Fortunately the ladder
didn't fall. The things a man will do to avoid cable (I'll read a book
before I ever go back to cable).
