LOA is determined by measuring the distance along a level horizontal
line between the FP and AP of a hull or deck. On conventional
mono-hulls this dimension is taken along the CL which is perpendicular
to the beam.
FP = Forward most point of the hull or deck
AP = Aft most point of the hull or deck
CL = Centerline of the hull or deck
Is that a sufficient boating definition for you?
