[DMCForum] Bombs at the Pentagon

Called my fire department buddy tonight. He has responded to hundreds
of false alarms, but knows of only two bomb like incidents since
September 11, neither of which blew up:
- Package left on the Metro platform tested positive for
radioactivity. Turned out to be some sort of sample that belonged to
the military itself. They came and picked it up.
- Suspicious bottles of fluid with wires attached found at the Navy
Annex (other side of Washington Boulevard). Arlington County bomb
squad -- never knew they had one of their own -- took it down to Quantico.

He says if you get a date, he'll try to research it in their logs.

Re: Pentagon firefighters -- those were the only fire department
injuries September 11. They were outside fiddling with the truck when
Flight 77 came in. Sprayed debris everywhere. Set the truck on fire.
Injured one of the firefighters so badly he had to take disability.
Apparently they are very nice and very professional, but simply do not
have the equipment necessary to service the Pentagon.
