Well, although I'm partial to the 1964 Dart hardtop for extremely
personal reasons ...
I would prefer the 1968 or 1969 Dodge Dart GTS covertible. No slant-6
for me; I'd like an 8-cylinder. Question is, which one? If memory
serves, the Dart originally had several engine options ... the GTS had
either a 383 or 340 "wedge" V8, and then there was a Dart Super Stock
which had a 426 Hemi. (And then there are the nuts who over the years
have dropped 440s in old Darts for racing purposes, but that's just silly.)
And I believe all the GTSs had four-barrel carburetors, which means I
could ask Bill Robertson for help if I ever get stuck. ;D
Anyway, V8s are fun. 340, 383, whatever. If I don't end up with the
slant-6 I'd be happy.
Of course, wanting a convertible makes one even harder to find -- I'm
pretty sure they only made several hundred, maybe a thousand, of the
convertibles each year. (And Joe Mannix drove one ... anybody remember
that show? Ha ha!)
Here's a picture of a 1968 Dodge dart GTS convertible:

And a 1969:

I'm pretty sure that they only made the GTS version of the Dart in 1968
and 1969. Anybody who can correct me on my Dart facts, please do so.
Anyway, it's just a pipe dream. A DeLorean seems more reasonable -- Sure
it's more expensive, but more available, and probably easier to get
parts for. LOL
Plus, as you said, the DeLorean is the ultimate extreme in coolness.
(Even though I renounced coolness some time ago, I still like the car.)
Suppertime. Bye bye! :)
