No, they wouldn't have.  Not only because Bush the elder was in office then
and due to who is in office now, but because the US is not in the business
of admitting its mistakes.

You are correct.  I was referring to what the media reported to the people,
not what any thinking person could have surmised on their own.

I know there has been no unequivocal proof of such, but one would think that
if it was caused by the antidotes, which are regularly administered to
people in the field, there would have been many more reports than have been.
