It demonstrates how blind faith can get you in to
trouble.  Were the soldiers in the Crusades guilty of
sin for what they did?  or was it OK because they were
ordered to??  We can apply this argument to any witch
hunt, and any violence taken in the name of God.  The
men that crashed planes in to the WTC did it in the
name of God, right?

More wars have been fought, and people killed in the
name of God than anything else in the past 2000 years.

Again See above..  We can say now it was not supported
by the bible, but those people back then thought it
was.  Religion is about control, maybe we needed this
back when people could not understand WHY they should
not kill, or steal.  It was easier to just say
"Because God said so!".  Kind of like when your
parents tell you to do it, "Because I said so".

Sure, they could have left.. but outside they did not
have food, shelter, and medical care.
