I'll be listing my car later this week on ebay, but want to post it
here first. My lowest price I'll accept is $8500. Here is the
description as it will be on e-bay.
History:
I bought this car 4 years ago and have spent $19k making this car
updated and mechanically reliable. My theory was to take car of the
mechanical problems and then finish up the cosmetics. Well, it's time
to hand over the keys for a great car and let someone else finish
what I have a running start on.
Cooling System:
Cooling system is working great! I've had the cooling fans replaced,
the otterstat replaced, new thermostat, all lines and hoses replaced.
Engine stays really cool and leaks no coolant.b A new radiator was
put in shortly before I bought the car, about 5 years ago.
Electrical System:
Last year I had a new alternator put in and new Optima Battery.
System is charging great, and is working great! Many other updates
have been made to the system, and there have been no problems.
Engine:
Tons of fuel system has been done, and I've done everything in my
power to make sure the system stays in tip-top condition. In the
summer I drive the car regularly, and make sure it is stored properly
in the winter. Car passes Washington State emissions with flying
colors! New fuel injector seals, new water pump, oil changed way more
frequently than any sane person would change their oil. Car smokes
upon first starting up after sitting for a couple of days, but once
started it puts out no smoke and runs beautifully! Fuel accumulator
replace 2 years ago.
Exhaust:
Last summer I had the Exhaust Sytstem replaced from the exhaust
manifolds clear through the muffler and tailpipes replaced from a low-
mileage car. I also put the new ceramic heatsheild between the
muffler and engine.
Air Conditioning:
Last summer I had the Air Conditioning professionally converted to R-
134, so it is fully charged and blowing cold... a must in the dry,
hot Inland Northwest.
Transmission:
Transmission went out 2 years ago, probably from a faulty Computer
Governor.
I had the transmission replaced, and upgraded to PJ Grady's new
improved Computer Governor. It's worked like a dream ever since.
Steering:
Steering is nice and tight, no slop! Makes for awesome freeway
driving.
Trailing Arm Bolts:
Trailing Arm Bolts replaced with "Toby-TABs", an important safety
upgrade for any Delorean!
Wheels , Tires and Suspension:
Wheels are showing normal discoloration from age, but tires probably
only under 1000 miles on them. Front suspension has been lowered, and
the car has new shocks all the way around from the MidWest Delorean
club. (great setup Marty, keep up the great work!)
Brakes:
Brakes are working great, and last time I checked have plently of
life left.Right now, the car does not have Emergency Brake cables
installed, but I willinclude the set I have but have never installed.
Master Brake Cylinder replace2 years ago.
Power Windows:
Power window motors replaced with DMC Houston's Heavy Duty Window
regulators
