Well today I followed Elvis Nocita's lock module upgrade procedure
sucessfully.
I like his procedure over the others because it keeps all the guts
inside the module box. Some of the others may work as well but they
involve "outboard" relays and diodes. Elvis claims to have done
several in this manner with excellent results.
If I understand what I'm reading correctly, heavier-duty Darlington
transistors amplify the lock/unlock sense signals better to overcome
the 10k ohm resistors which replaced the 1k ohm resistors. The
purpose of the new resistors is to reduce the standby current which
kills the battery.
I tested the module with a 12v power supply and a toggle-switch in my
basement and it works perfectly.
My driver's side door solenoid is shot and needs to be replaced/re-
wound. Once that's done it should all work perfectly.
If the finished product works as it should, I'm willing to assist
others for the cost of shipping and parts as time permits.
