Ryan, the nice thing with cars that use side-mount battery connections is that with a universal battery (dual style connections) you can use the top posts for aftermarket accessories. And using a gel battery solves most of the corrosion issue.
If I were installing a high current device in a DeLorean that needed more than I could pull off the door lock power then I would go through to the engine compartment and hook onto the jump start post or a similar post hidden next to the ignition coil.
