Sh!t, you know, you may be right. Mine _IS_ modified, but not by me. 
It's the single modification on my entire car, and I still have no idea 
how it's been done (but as it works perfectly, I'll just smile when I 
find it one day). It still has the relay.

So in powering that relay, I turn the sidelights on. Hahahahaha - that's 
the sort of mistake only an engineer can make :o))))
