Rich,

I picked up a set of metric impact sockets from Harbor Freight for $20 her
in town.

It included a 32mm socket.

My torque wrench goes to 150 lb-ft, so the front was easy.

I may hang 50 lbs on the end of a 5 foot cheater pipe to torque the back.

Those are the values that I have.

If I had to offer an educated guess, I'd say it's because the rear 
has much heavier bearings and structure. It is also exposed to much 
greater forces given that that's where the drive wheels are.

All I know for sure is that I spent $30.00 on a 32mm impact socket 
and I let my impact gun do the talking for me.
