By that I mean that the coolant temp reaches 40 degrees, and the 
control pressure regulator no longer compensates for a lean fuel 
mixture.

I can tell when the temp reaches the 40 degrees mark because the 
difference is night and day -- The engine switches from running "like 
a bag of nails" to running very smoothly in about 1 second.  The 
acceleration is still somewhat jerky (it will speed up or hesitate 
even though my foot doesn't move the pedal), and sometimes it will 
idle high (2500 RPMs) for a few seconds.  (Usually, it's at a stop 
light, with lots of other cars around, the drivers wondering if I'm 
angry at them for some reason.)

I'll try pressing the full throttle microswitch to see what happens.  
I'm waiting for it to cool down.
