That does indeed suck. I had a similar experience with a non-responsive
eBay seller so I gave up and was about to put a stop payment on the check
when the package showed up. Did you send the person a personal check or
money order drafted on your bank account? Most of those can be tracked at
least to where they were cashed. If it was cashed at a grocery story, for
example, they should have it on video and maybe even a fingerprint on the
item.
My bank will issue a bank check, drafted on my account, that is traceable.
I use this instead of sending anything with my personal information on it.
Do you have the address where you sent the payment?
Greg
PS- Do you still have the link to the auction?

Remember the ASI radio I said I won on Ebay?
Remember how everyone told me to be patient?
Well after several non-satisfactory responses and non-responses from
the seller, 30 days later I went to leave a negative feedback. This
is what Ebay spat back out at me:
"Feedback can not be left because this member is no longer a
registered user"
That SOB insisted on a cashier's check or M.O. I'm so stupid. I don't
even have the satisfaction of flaming him. No more Ebay for me. I've
learned my lesson.
