I finished re-covering my headliners today. The "Headsup" brand of
material is really very nice. It has a foam pad backing. That 3M
Super 77 is positively evil. I hope it holds up as well as people say
it does. So I'm down to continuing to dye all of the vinyl pieces,
carpet and re-covering the seats. I thought about ordering some of
this stuff "ready to bolt in" but this being the most "real"
restoration I've ever done, I wanted to experience all aspects of it.
So far, my engine has consumed 1/2 a tank of fuel and given me 148
miles for it. That's driving in DC traffic every day. My fuel sender
is a bit erratic so we'll see what the final tally is when I tank up.
I want to flap-wheel the body myself. What grit is most commonly used?
Have any of you ever done this?
Thanks,
Rich A.
