Could be a dry bearing.
Personally, I think it's just cool enough down there that you could 
live without A/C but if you have other problems, don't push it. You 
could always come down Sunday for the drive and barbque.
Consider though, if you think it'll make it down you can take 
advantage of all the free labor.
