These are very common in many sizes and colors.  Most any automotive
upholstery shop should have what you need.  They are also available like
Mark said at Auto Zone in the red Help boxes but would probably be more
expensive that way.

Also, try looking for an upholstery supply store in your area.  There is one
near where I live any they carry any clip, fastener, retainer, screw, you
name it, for anything used in a car.

Are those little Xmas tree clips that hold the headliners and
interior door panels commonly available or do I have to mail order
them through a vendor?

The ones I'm referring to are black, plastic and are part no: SP10671.
