This is like jailhouse correspondence -- EVERYBODY knows our business... Silicone can not be applied topically. Need to separate mating surfaces, apply a reasonable bead, then perform TWO torquings: 1) gentle torque, just enough to evenly distribute silicone but not squish out entirely. Let dry overnight 2) final torque BTW: your car doesn't idle like a traditional vacuum leak. Why not put a vacuum gauge on the cold start tube just to be sure. Will come up Saturday morning, with some vacuum caps (no ECU -- sorry, traded to John Hervey for an RPM relay. I think I got the better part of that deal). #5939 is the most boring piece of hardware in my driveway. No fuss. No surprises. Just turn the key and drive. Its reliability is becoming monotonous. At least it is filthy (hasn't had a bath since Fall Foliage). Does that count? I've been sealing up everything in sight with high temp silicone since everyone seems to think I've got a vacuum leak. None of this has fixed the idle problem. No place in Sanford has 3/4" vacuum caps, so I can't go to a manual idle circuit to see if that will solve the problem. I'm kind of stuck in a rut. I was also going to see if I could buy your idle speed ECU from you since you're running a manual idle circuit, and promise to help you install those new speakers on top of that. The 3rd will be fine... I'll be in Charlotte over new years, but will be back at my parents in Sanford by the 3rd. FYI the new CPR really has made a difference in the running rich when cold problem. Hasn't completely eliminated it... but darn close. How's #5939 treating you? -Louie > > _____________________________________________________________ > Buy and sell stocks in NFL teams!
