[DMCForum] Re: Interesting problem with battery.



By attaching the positive first and negative second will eliminate most of =
the sparks at
the battery.

Think of it this way...
when you put the neg on first you ground the whole car and then apply the p=
ositive
you instantly turn everything on and then you get sparks.

Now on the other hand....
If you apply the positive on first, the system is not energized because no =
neg is
connected so no sparks, apply the negative and you should have less sparks =
if any.

remember just because you connect the positive up first does not mean you g=
ive the
system power because you need both cables connected for any power, you neve=
r will
have half or any power with just the positive cable connected.

Now from what i am told i might be wrong but i remember the electrical curr=
ent flows
from neg to pos not pos to neg so thats why you connect the pos side first =
then neg
second.
