Oh yeah, torsion bars really are 3/8" and not anything metric. Have an extra set of bolts for the retaining plate just in case you bind the threads on one of the originals. I suggest taking the bars completely out and refastening the steel sub-panel back to the fiberglass while you are in there. If the torsion bars rub the hinges then you still have problems.
