Andrew, Your dash looks awesome! The red bulbs from above give the top part of the gauges a purple look. Does it look that way in person or does that only show in the pictures? A good person to brain storm with on lit needles is Jim Reeves. His strategy for a backlit instrument panel was to start with new panels made from clear plastic, but then he didn't want to bother unless he could do lit gauge needles too. Probably the best bet is to scarf some gauges from a junkyard and see if you can make lit needles from those work. The problem is that there isn't any clearance between the mechanicals and the face plates. I bet there is some way to set the mechanicals further back using extensions. But it would probably require the skills & tools of a Swiss watch maker. > I may try a cold cathode tube later ... I hear that those are expensive and have a relatively short service life. What would be really cool is to replace all the gauge faces with a video display. Replace the side mirrors with video cameras and have that for the background on the display. Walt Yahoo!
