[DMCForum] Re: Soiled Seat

Totally ruined the leather...

Honestly, have been struggling to get my car right for so long:
1) Until recent compression check had no idea I wasn't 8.8:1. Is no
way to tune high compression engine on 89 octane.
2) Car came with Bosch plugs -- can't remember what flavor. Had good
success with Delco R44's until major vacuum leak. R42's are perfect
for my chambers.
3) Martin 100% correct on series 038 CPR fuel enrichment (see separate
post Re: new Volvo manuals). Until this trip had no enrichment.

Must change topic before I ruin chair at work...

My new manuals explain in detail how to set Volvo idle. Nice people on
www.brickboard.com were not 100% correct (according to Swedes
themselves). Actual idle speed set old fashioned way -- cracking
throttle plates. Brass manifold screws simply augment to "balance" the
engine (rock & roll from odd firing sequence). Apparently never
intended to be sole source of idle air.

This weekend will get my idle as perfect as open throttle without
benefit of exhaust gas analyzer.

Then #5939 will be totally sweet.

Except for headliners...
