[DMCForum] What kind of glue to use?

I want to glue something to the bumper, and of course
want it to hold even in the rain...  But, I also want
to be able to some day remove the item, and be able to
clean all the glue off.

Maybe the 3M weather strip glue?  I think a bit of
heat will make it soft again, but what will remove the
remaining glue without damaging the bumper and paint? 
Alcohol does not seem to dissolve the glue.

Suggestions?
