Wow.  I know what caster is, but it still took a minute to figure out
what you said, Walt.

I would like to amend it from:  

It is measured in degrees and is the axis that the wheel is hinged on as
it steers.

to

It is measured in degrees and is **the angle between the vertical axis
and** the axis that the wheel is hinged on as it steers.

It's still hard to picture...  When the crumple tube crumples, the
swaybar moves rearward.  This moves the bottom of the hub rearward.  The
top of the hub is stationary with the upper a-arm, and gives the car a
really bad negative caster.  

This makes the car pull to the side that got more crumpled.
