AHA the mystery of the PRV claims another victim. I was almost as frustrated with the PRV at one point. I did manage to get it running, but having gone through so much trouble for 130hp (or less), I was livid enough to replace it with something better. You need to be more specific about what you checked and what you tested for! When you say that the FPR is new, did you check for functionality? I second Martin's approach to testing it. Just make sure that washer does not fall into the intake! Put a string on it or something! Take out all 6 fuel injectors, make sure hte pattern is right for the six. Jumper the RPM relay. Make sure that they are all NOT spraying. Push down the air flow meter a millimeter and they should all be spraying about the same amount. You note that not all seem to be sparking. Well take 6 plugs out and ground them all to the block. Have someone turn over the car. Do they all fire? If you are still uncertain about timing for any reason, pull the cap (AGAIN) and follow the ignition power from the coil to the rotor to the spark plug. Make sure the piston is near TDC. If you have the valve cover off, make sure that the intake valve has just closed. There are mechanical timing advances in the distributor. If a 40 cent spring broke, your timing could be off 5 degrees. After turning over a couple times, remove and check all the plugs. Are any wet? Are they all wet? They should all be dry. SPARK PLUGS don't spark for S when they are WET! Make sure that they are dry at all times! You dont even have to tighten your plugs until you at least have the thing running. This will make it easier to take them in/out. If you turn over a few times and it doesn't work, then you happen to have everything perfectly lined up in all fashions, the car will still either not start or run like crap until the plugs dry out. A flooded engine is the worst thing to try to troubleshoot. Keep those plugs dry!!!! Good luck. Jim --- "cruznmd" <racuti1@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: I believe that your guy can help. I certainly don't take it as an insult. All I'm saying is that I'm at the end of -my- knowledge. I did not adjust the rocker clearances as I did not remove the cams. I only removed the heads, checked for warpage, cleaned them up, exhaust gaskets etc. If you think it's still worth checking, I'll get on it. For what it's worth, I tried to start it a little later and it damn near caught. It was the strongest sputter I had yet. I just can't tell what it wants. More gas, less gas, better spark or what. I've had trouble with that relay that reduces the ballast resistor by half when you crank it. I have spark, but... Anyway, I'll take help where I can get it. Thanks.
