Sure, you can do it, but "economically"... probably not. -----Original Message----- From: Avi Sarfaraz [mailto:asarfaraz@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, June 28, 2003 8:26 AM To: DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [DMCForum] DMC-12-A Ive started to ponder a Idea that might be benneficial to the younger members and older members of the DMC community... I want to Revamp a DMC-12 with more modern materials and amenities, possibly for people who love the look of the DMC, but want more power to come from it and luxury so it can compare with todays cars. These are a few Ideas and what would be required of my Original DMC-12a (A is for Avi :^P) - one 1981-1983 Delorean Motor Company DMC-12 (Full resto, or low end fair car, most would be replaced so its irrellevant) -Revamp the electrical systems of the DMC to be more simple and efficent this includes but not excludes the following (Fuse box, Light systems, engine bay, etc etc) -Redo the interior with possibly Cheaper, but more long lasting, more comfortable materials (such as possibly Allante or Conolly Leather) and custom making new seats with better cushion materials and install powerseating, seatwarmers) - Incorporate a custom manufactured Digital Dash for the DMC-12a that woud make everything easier to read in the dark and update the central panel for lights and AC/Heat - Redo the Stereo System with either Pioneer or Alipine Systems with GPS Navigational/DVD and possibly a 12-Cd Changer for improved sound - Possibly a engine transplant (Corvette LT-1?, Firebird V6?) or this supposed 400hp Modified PRV-6 (???) engine, and add Twin turbos to increase performance of the DMC, No one will ever say a DMC is slow again.. - Lowering Springs to give the car the original look (gotta love the lowered look!) -Stainless Steel ehnacements from PJ Grady, and SS exaust for lifelong use -Possibly a PDC SS frame (Costyl, but essential once the original frames are rusted away) -Possibly a Body Kit to update the look of the DMC-12 - Updated Lighting, maybe black out the lights (??) This would be costly, but if it could be done economically, we could generate more interest in the DMCs and possbily get a larger base of fans and owners and we would be restoring old cars that need it in the first place.... what do you guys think?
