The least expensive and best in my view for the drain plug removal, is to
buy a piece of  key stock - about 12" long. I bent a small length at one
end
90 degrees, in a vise, so there was about 3/4"  to clear, slide into, and
remove the plug. (Make sure you change the washer on the plug with each
oil
change.)  My cost was about $1.25 for the custom made DeLorean tool.
