by looking under the car I say yes. Once its out of the car I will take it
appart and find out . It is a VW/Audi case and by its age I would guess
that
it is probably the same case that VW used in the vanagons but with
different
internals.

Walt if you are intrested they have a beet up 944 at the Tampa Machine
Auction theis Sat.  they say the drivers door is stuck shut, and it doesnt
start...  but for some parts to play with u should be able to get it for
about $100
